Justice;
There are many voices calling for Justice.
I dare say there are more reasons to call out for Justice than there are voices calling out.
I wish to be a voice for Justice.
NO JUSTICE NO PEACE
They say.
There are plenty of examples here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the United States and the World, of injustice committed on personal, communal, social, political and National scales.
It is time to speak of these things.
When groups of people are treated unjustly, it results in pain, suffering, anger and hatred.
It seems natural to want to inflict injustices in an attempt to “right” the scales.
This is the natural law.
I do believe it to be true that
AN EYE FOR AN EYE LEAVES THE WHOLE WORLD BLIND.
We are called to a higher law.
We can do better as individuals and communities than fighting with each other or pulling each other down.
Seek Justice within relationships and within yourself.
Treat others the way you want to be treated. This is easily said, challenging to do.
To accept a standard for yourself that you would hold others to is a challenge of the spirit.
Compassion,
Discipline,
Inner strength to bear our own suffering,
Humility.
These are Qualities that must be developed at great effort with consistent attention.
If we want to go beyond simply talking about Justice, and to begin enacting justice, then we must sacrifice for the attainment.
This is what true justice entails.
Personally, I want peace and harmony in my life.
Peace begins within and extends into my closest relationships first, then to my community, then the World.
There are plenty of signs that Justice does not reign: starvation, violence, irrational inexplainable destruction of the innocent.
It is frightening to behold.
I realize that I can only start where I am.
So, I have chosen to seek justice in my life, I choose to entrench Justice and empower Justice, I will institutionalize principles of justice and Enfranchise those who seek Justice
With the scales of my conscience in balance.
I commit to living Justly
